Our Recordings

Professor Vince Maggio cared first and foremost about the music. He encouraged listening, groove and interaction. The depth of knowledge and wisdom he possessed was rare in an educator, as was his willingness to share it with us, his students.

The Lost Melody offers this new album of some of Vince's favorite tunes as an expression of gratitude.

With this project, we have shifted our focus away from playing jazz standards toward our own original music, compelled to champion "melody first" in both improvisation and composition. The result is a collection of new songs influenced by the great melodic craftsmen of the 20th century: New Songs for Old Souls.
